over a month

lets just go ahead and say ‘almost two months’

as usual, i have way too much to say. but no desire to say it at the moment. its been a long summer, a very long summer. nothing extremely new at the moment. in less than 4 hours i will be leaving for a few days to sail with my dad down to port lavaca. the whole excursion will be aided by my gps enabled iphone 3gs (woot) [i hope this thing fucking works]. which i will hopefully be posting pictures and stuff with at least each night (or whenever we make our way to land and/or port for some rest and refueling).

Why,….hello there! Its been quite a while.

Summer has been, up to this point, to say the least, unproductive. I have a lot on my to do list, and even more on my not-to-do list. Work is going pretty well, I dont really have much to complain about in that general area. My living situation is about to change though : /

Jose’s girlfriend is moving in with him, so that means that Rene and I have to move out. Which means that I’ll probably have to move back in with my parents until an apartment that I can afford opens up. OR. I could ask for a dorm scholarship, and live at the school for free. But the dorms suck, and so does the food. So if anyone needs a roommate that is super clean and can cook better than your grandmaw, let me know!

This past sunday I brought my macbook to the apple store in Houston to get the outer casing replaced (for free, of course). Hopefully I get it back soon, Summer I starts tomorrow.

 

I am not looking forward to taking english comp 1. I really cannot stand this type of course.

It seems as if the weight of the world has finally been lifted off of my shoulders. School is coming to an end, just one an a half more weeks of studying and finals. All of my major projects are complete and went well. I’m pumped about possibly making straight A’s this semester, I usually slack off way too much.

I love being around certain people. I couldn’t ask for anything better. Thats all that I’lll say for now.

So, as I type this, I am actually laying in bed still at 9:00 in the morning. This is the first time that I’ve been able to sleep in all YEAR. It feels so great. Ive been waking up at 6 am everyday, and just the fact that this routine is coming to an end is sweet.

The weekend has already started off great. No work, sans playing on sunday, but thats not really work. I got to hang out with a really great friend last night. I could’nt ask for anything more right now. I am more than content.

I really hope that this sticks. And I know that it will unless I fuck it up somehow.

So I’ve pretty much decided to sell my macbook. I love it, its a great machine, but I really would like something that is ultraportable. i.e. the MSI Wind. (which is what I plan to buy) and since running leopard on the wind will be no hassel at all, why not?

Band concert tomorrow night, and the conducting symposium on saturday!

I can almost see the light of day.

Oh I almost forgot. The first round of songs from a band that has yet to be named are near completion. A very mysterious myspace, with some rough recordings, might be sending out invites within the near future. hmmmm. Expect a complete CD before you see a live show….things might change though, just sayin!

I was so busy this weekend….BUT! (yes, there is a but!) It was an amazing weekend.

I worked friday night and ended up meeting one of the coolest people that I’ve ever met. I’ll leave it at that for now

Oh, I actually made some money this weekend….so yeah, thats good.

I stayed out late on Friday night after work, and ended up going to bed around 4:00 am.

THENNNNN I had the dress rehearsal for orchestra. And as soon as I was finished there, I had to head to work.

Reid came over Saturday night when I got home, and we played guitar and worked on some music for a while.

I just realized how fucking hilarious that meat on the plate looks O . o

At work on Saturday night, (remember that I work at a sushi bar now) one of the other waiters was asking exactly what my name is. (I am the only white guy there, everyone else was either born in china or indonesia.) He doesnt speak english too well, only enough to get by, so the confusion is understood.

So he asks if my name is Petruk or Patrick…Apparently Petruk is some a character from some kind of Indonesian folk story. When he is asking me, he draws this….

yup, this is one of the weirdest things that I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

If you would like to see the weirdest, do a wikipedia serch for petruk. The image there is really WTF!

Today I woke up and played my regular church gig in the morning. Then the orchestra concert was at 3:00. It went pretty well. Everything was a lot better than expected….except for the Beethoven, it was total LOL. w/e though

I passed out for a few hours this afternoon, due to lack of sleep. I feel pretty awesome now though.

it feels like

the past few weeks/months have been endlessly busy for me, but not that bad at all. School is almost over for the semester. My desktop comuter, sigh. One day, I will have only macs. So, I replaced my motherboard with a brand new ASUS board that i got from a friend. Apparently one of the ram slots is not working, so that leaves me with only two gigs of ram, running in single channel mode. yuck. Why cant PC’s just work!? A brand new motherboard shouldnt have issues.

Tomorrow, I have my second to last speech for my public speaking class, and what i believe to be my second to last test in music history. These two classes have been the baine of my existance for this entire semester. Yah, I’ve learned a lot. But I need a break from it.

Oh yeah, did I say that I’ve been busy? Well, the next two weeks will be busy + more stuff.
